Promoting Commerce

Member of Commerce and Regulatory Reform Committee

Representative Anderson continued the fight by working hard to reform measures that help our state chartered banks compete with federal banks.  Diane authored bipartisan legislation,SF1735, that provided clarity in current statute for our state chartered banks.  Representative Anderson also authored a bill, HF 2638, that streamlines the electronics insurance process and requirements.  Both bills were signed successfully into law by Governor Dayton.

Family Law and Judicial Reform

Member of Judiciary Policy and Finance Committee

Representative Diane Anderson has worked as a citizen advocate for family law issues for over 20 years. Diane worked hard on HF292 which would require divorcing parents to develop a parenting plan. She understands that having both parents in a child’s life is best for the family.

Diane also had a bill, HF1135, to modify existing law regarding parent education classes in the event of a divorce. The bill enforces the requirement for parents to complete the classes and provided for on-line classes.
In addition, Representative Anderson worked to maintain the integrity of our judicial election system and to make some changes to judicial elections.
