Diane is a former State Representative and she will represent and support the needs of the people in this district. She will work hard to be a strong advocate for you. Moreover, Diane has worked effectively with all political affiliations. Diane Anderson believes we should work together to solve problems.

Diane Anderson grew up in Hopkins, Minnesota and has been an Eagan homeowner for 35 years. She has been married to her husband, Gale, for 35 years and has two sons.

Diane Anderson graduated from the University of Minnesota with a B.S. degree in Housing. She enjoyed her city planning classes. Diane worked in the mortgage business for twelve years.

Diane Anderson was elected to the State House in 2010 and served for one term from 2011 to 2012. “It was truly an honor to serve in the state legislature and represent the interests of the citizens. Serving in the state legislature was one of the best times of my life.”

Diane did a great job as State Representative. Rep. Anderson was a member of the Health and Human Services Finance Committee, Commerce and Regulatory Reform Committee, and the Judiciary Policy and Finance Committee. As a legislator, Diane learned a lot about our Health and Human Services policies and focused on issues regarding Mental Illness. Diane’s knowledge and experience regarding Commerce will be very beneficial to improving our state’s economy. Another big asset is Diane’s knowledge and experience with issues regarding the Judiciary.

As a state representative, Diane Anderson worked on legislation to help people who are homeless and provided funding for the homeless. She understands the issues with homelessness and toured homeless housing units in Eagan. Rep. Anderson chief authored a bill, HF 846, that appropriated money for emergency services grants and transitional housing. The state funding for fiscal year 2012-13 for Transitional Housing Grants was $5.868 million and for the Emergency Services Program was $688,000. The Transitional Housing Grants program served 4,000 individuals annually and the Emergency Services program served 3,000 individuals annually.

Diane Anderson worked on state legislative issues as a volunteer citizen advocate for 30 years. Anderson wanted to help reform some laws to make things better for people. She helped draft the bills, talked to legislators of both parties to educate them and get their support, and helped get the bills passed. Diane was a member of a MN Supreme Court Task Force and a MN Department of Human Services Task Force.

You can count on Diane to get things done. Diane has the experience, qualifications, knowledge, and leadership abilities to best represent you.

Let’s work together to improve our community.
